2017 Land Rover Discovery – New Body Release
2017 Land Rover Discovery
British car maker Land Rover was able to conceal for a long time the appearance of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery in the new body, but in the end, as expected, the production model was executed in the style of the Vision Concept prototype, first shown in fall 2014.
The SUV abandoned its branded angular design in place of flowing lines for the first time in its history. In general, the external appearance of the new 2017 Land Rover Discovery now resembles the younger model – Discovery Sport with a characteristic C-pillar and glazing. The Black Design and Dynamic Design packages are now available. There are four trim levels – S, SE, HSE and HSE Luxury. The first batch of 2400 pieces will be released in the exclusive “First Edition” model.
The interior of the new 2017 Land Rover Discovery can be a five- or seven-seater. The manufacturer emphasized that the third row can accommodate two adults of up to 190 cm in height in genuine comfort.
Execution of the front panel is more reminiscent of the older Range Rover models. At the center console is the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, featuring a large 10.0-inch color touchscreen display, allowing to reduce by third the presence of conventional buttons. There is 3G capability, smartphone (iOS and Android) connectivity, and WiFi sharing for eight devices.
For an extra fee, the car can be equipped with a Meridian sound system with 14 speakers surrounding you from all angles, including a subwoofer. The owner can also go for a layout where all the three rows feature heated seats (first in this class). The middle seat row is ventilated, while massage seats are available for the driver and front passenger.
The new 2017 Land Rover was made in Land Rover’s Solihull plant in England. It will go on sale in spring 2017. There is no information on price yet, but it is known that the SUV in UK will be priced from £43,495.
