2017 Honda Civic 4D Overview

The new tenth-generation 2017 Honda Civic Sedan for the North American market was unveiled at a special event in September 16, 2015, and the European premiere of the car model was held at Paris auto show in September 2016.

It’s hard not to mention how the car has been transformed from the sedan of the previous version. The technical component and the exterior underwent very pleasant changes in combination with interior room upgrade. Our pictures of the new car will help explore all the details.

The exterior design of the new 2017 Honda Civic Sedan significantly changed compared to the previous-generation car. The car body has a sloping roof. The car is fitted with C-pillar windows, making the four-door car resemble a liftback.

The new body has almost completely changed. The manufacturer abandoned the old design (two-tier instrument panel), returning to the traditional instrument panel, which still retained the large tachometer at the center.
There is a different steering wheel and an original two-tier front panel. The 7.0-inch screen of the multimedia system looks like a tablet PC inserted in special holders. The new multimedia system is powered by Android OS. The system has both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability.

Exterior

The photos clearly show external changes that have been made on the car. The dynamics and sporty design have similarities with the American Accord model.
Japanese car maker Honda says that the rigidity of the body of the new Honda Civic 10 increased by 25% thanks to increased use of super high tensile steel in the construction (12% vs. 1% in the predecessor). The car’s weight was reduced by 31 kg.

Apart from Honda Civic 10, there are coupe, “warmed” Si modification, as well as a hatchback, including in the “charged” Type R version. The European version of the new-generation Civic will go on sale in early 2017. The base version of the model for the Old World received an 182-hp 1.5L engine – diesel engine will appear later.

The manufacturer did not specify all the dimensions of the new Honda Civic Sedan 4D. It is only known that the width increased to 1803 mm, the height reduced to 1409 mm, the wheelbase length increased to 2700 mm, while the volume of the luggage carrier increased to 428 liters against the previous 354 liters.

2017 Honda Civic Engine

The engine of the 2017 Honda Civic in the United States consists of an aspirated 2.0-liter i-VTEC producing 160 hp and a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine Earth Dreams VTEC Turbo with 175 brake horsepower.
